TITLE: Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) in Johnson County

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

New Description - Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) and its extensions in Johnson County described as follows:

Beginning at the Johnson-Washington County line at a point near the S ¼ Corner Section 33-T78N-R6W, Johnson County (N ¼ Corner Section 4-T77N-R6W, Washington County); thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 33 and 28-T78N-R6W to a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 28-T78N-R6W; thence northeasterly, northerly and northwesterly through Sections 21, 16, 9, and 4-T78N-R6W and Sections 33, 28, and 29-T79N-R6W to the south corporation line of Iowa City, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 590 feet west of the NE Corner Section 29-T79N-R6W).

Iowa City:

Beginning on an unnamed street at the south corporation line; thence northwesterly on said unnamed street to the west corporation line (approximately 1000 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 29-T79N-R6W Beginning again on the west corporation line of Iowa City connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1000 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 29-T79N-R6W); thence northwesterly through Section 29-T79N-R6W to the south corporation line of Iowa City, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 430 feet east of the NW Corner Section 29-T79N-R6W).

Iowa City:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 430 feet east of the NW Corner Section 29-T79N-R6W); thence northwesterly on said unnamed street to the west corporation line (approximately 2040 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 12-T79N-R7W).

Beginning again on the west corporation line of Iowa City, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 2040 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NW ¼ Section 12-T79N-R7W); thence northwesterly through Sections 12 and 2-T79N-R7W and Section 35-T80N-R7W to the south corporation line of Coralville, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1360 feet north and 350 feet east of the SE Corner Section 35-T80N-R7W).

Coralville:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with an unnamed street (approximately 1360 feet north and 350 feet east of the SE Corner Section 35-T80N-R7W); thence northwesterly on said unnamed street to junction of Interstate 80, connecting with Interstate 380; thence northerly to the north corporation line/ south corporation line of North Liberty (approximately 2750 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NE ¼ of Section 22-T80N-R7W).

North Liberty:

Beginning on the south corporation line, connecting with Interstate 380 (approximately 2750 feet south of the N ¼ Corner NE ¼ of Section 22-T80N-R7W); thence northerly on Interstate 380 to the north corporation line (N ¼ Corner NE ¼ of Section 22-T80N-R7W).

Beginning again on the north corporation line of North Liberty, connecting with Interstate 380 (N ¼ Corner NE ¼ of Section 22-T80N-R7W); thence in a northerly direction following substantially the E ¼ section line of Sections 15, 10, and 3-T80N-R7W; thence continuing in a northwesterly direction through Sections 34, 27, 22, 15, 16, and 9-T81N-R7W; thence in a northerly direction through Section 4-T81N-R7W to the Johnson-Linn County line at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 4-T81N-R7W, Johnson County (S ¼ Corner Section 33-T82N-R7W, Linn County).

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve adding the description of Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) in Johnson County to the Primary Road System.
